Jessie J announced the title of her new album at V Festival on 20 August: ALIVE
It will be released 23 September!
The tracklist has not been officially released, but you can pre-order exclusive CD versions of the album + merchandise online here!
We've been hearing a lot of new Jessie J songs lately, including the urban track Excuse My Rude (after a lyric video was uploaded to Jessie J's YouTube account), Magnetic (featured on the soundtrack of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), as well as Hero (featured on the soundtrack of Kick Ass 2)! It is not known if these tracks will be included on Alive.
Take a listen:
What do you think of these new tracks? I definitely can't wait for her new album to drop just next month!
Britney started a countdown timer on her website, counting down to 17 September, 9:30 PM SST, along with the words "All Eyes On Me". Will this be the title of her new single, to be released on that day? (Or is it simply just a reference to her line in Scream & Shout?) We can't wait to find out more!
Kelly Clarkson announced a Christmas album scheduled to be released on 29 October. It is titled Wrapped In Red, and is preceded by its lead single Underneath the Tree. In an interview on CMT Radio, Clarkson revealed she had already expressed interest in recording a Christmas album for years, having recorded the Christmas songs "Oh Holy Night" and "My Grown Up Christmas List" on the compilation American Idol: The Great Holiday Classics (2003), having been featured on "There's a New Kid in Town" on country singer Blake Shelton's album Cheers, It's Christmas (2012), and having released "I'll Be Home for Christmas" as a single from iTunes Session (2011). Roar by Katy Perry has been #1 on iTunes for more than a week! Roar sold more than 557 000 downloads in its first week of release, claiming the top spot on Billboard's Digital Songs chart. (MTV, Aug 21 2013) Congratulations Katy! Applause by Lady Gaga is #2 on the charts, while Burn by Ellie Goulding peaked at #3 last week, and is currently at #5.
Speaking of Ellie, I've received an email from the Universal Music UK online store telling my that my signed copy of Halcyon Days has been shipped! Super excited. Will definitely update when I get it! I've heard that the full versions of Goodness Gracious and Flashlight have been leaked, but I refuse to listen to them until I get my hands on the album.
As September draws closer, get ready for a month of music. Lady Gaga, Ellie Goulding, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Elton John, Paramore, Tinie Tempah, Justin Timberlake and other acts are scheduled to perform at the iTunes Festival this year! Check the official website for the full schedule: http://www.itunesfestival.com/
Have a great weekend!
