Trouble - Natalia Kills
OMG I don't even know how to start. This record sounds absolutely fantastic and is really quite different from her debut, Perfectionist. (You've probably heard this quite a few times). It's much...edgier, but there are ballads on this track (which wasn't really the case on Perfectionist, except for maybe Heaven).
Favourite tracks: Saturday Night, Devils Don't Fly, Trouble
Alive - Jessie J
I've been waiting for Jessie's second album for way too long. So many potential hits from this album. The opening track, It's My Party, was released as the second single from Alive but wasn't well received. It kinda doesn't sound like a pop hit but yeah I guess it kinda works as the first thing you hear when you press play. Does get you into the mood (but actually isn't really about a party. It's about Jessie doing her thing and just stop telling her what to do!). The message of this album is pretty clear: it's Jessie writing about feeling alive. How deep. It gets you on your feet and grooving along to tracks such as Sexy Lady and It's My Party, and makes you feel refreshed with Breathe, Alive and Magnetic. Note that Magnetic is featured on the soundtrack of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and Hero is featured on that of Kickass 2.
Favourite Tracks: Thunder, Breathe, Excuse My Rude, Magnetic
PRISM - Katy Perry
Katy released a worldwide hit and lead single Roar in August, and my gosh, it's still high up on the iTunes charts. A second single, Unconditionally, has also been released and a music video is coming soon! I was very impressed by PRISM. Doesn't really sound like Teenage Dream despite what some reviews have said. Most of the songs wouldn't fit it on TD. The first half of PRISM is more of the pop hits than we know Katy for (except for Unconditionally). You HAVE to just go out and party while blasting This Is How We Do. Every track sounds unique. Walking On Air is a Eurodance-disco song while Dark Horse is kinda like hip-hop. Legendary Lovers, a song about John Mayer, has Bhangra music omg don't you just love it! The second half consists of mostly emotional songs, some ballads, and this is where the music gets kinda different. It's not bad or anything but it just feels different. Really lovely tunes. You NEED to get this album. Now.
Favourite Tracks: Legendary Lovers, Unconditionally, Love Me, Double Rainbow
Don't Look Down - Skylar Grey
I saw this at HMV and got it. Never regretted. Skylar Grey (real name: Holly Brook) released an album under her real name in 2006, titled Like Blood Like Honey. Since then she has written quite a few hits for other artists, including Love The Way You Lie (incl Parts II and III), Diddy-Dirty Money's Coming Home, as well as Dr Dre's I Need A Doctor, and is a featured vocalist on the latter two tracks. I was pretty excited to hear her new album. And it doesn't disappoint. Grey is an amazing songwriter no doubt. Just listen to the opening track, Back From The Dead! The lead single, C'mon Let Me Ride (feat. Eminem), is probably the most fun and least serious song. (and it's really quite sick but I love it haha). Get the deluxe edition if you can, some great tunes on that, including Beautiful Nightmare. Also, White Suburban kinda makes me cry. um. yeah. Awesome album.
Favourite tracks: Back From The Dead, Final Warning, White Suburban, Beautiful Nightmare
Wrapped In Red - Kelly Clarkson
Kelly released her Christmas album last week! Haven't got it yet but so far the few songs that I've heard are pretty amazing!
Britney news yay
Britney's 8th studio album, Britney Jean, is set for release on 3 December. Can't wait! She released a second single, Perfume, on 5 Nov. It's a ballad about how she hopes her boyfriend's new girl will be able to smell her perfume on him. Wow. This is like, so intense. Love the song. You probably haven't heard Britney's vocals like this for some time. Simply beautiful.
Here's the fantastic video for Work Bitch:
Another song titled Passenger, has been leaked. It is simply out of this world. Do a simple search online and you should be able to have a listen. I don't encourage anyone to spread the leaks though. We really want Britney Jean to be a successful release, don't we? Really can't wait!
I've added a new playlist!
1. Unconditionally - Katy Perry
2. Double Rainbow - Katy Perry
3. Thunder - Jessie J
4. Breathe - Jessie J
5. Magnetic - Jessie J
6. Work Bitch - Britney Spears
7. Perfume - Britney Spears
Also, I made a lyric video for Double Rainbow. Do check it out!
I guess that's all for now!
