IS IT OVER?

Yes, something's over. It's the AYG Torch Relay and Opening Ceremony. Yesterday, about 300 people gathered at the foyer at 4.05 pm, waiting for the stick of fire to arrive. When it came, I realised it wasn't a stick of fire. It was a little curved, like the horn of a bull, coloured white and red (I think), with a distant glow of orange flame dancing on it. Actually we weren't allowed to be in for the thing. But we did anyway. We weren't formal. So we ran alongside the torch, seeing droplets of drizzle adding to the effect. You get it. And finally it went into the newly-opened (actually it opened just yesterday) indoor sports hall. And it ended there. And now it's over, with the vivid memories of the flame still in my mind. But not everything's over yet.
